My husband and I love spending time with our kids at the park. One particular park near our church has a playground with a bridge leading from one end of the play structure to the other. This bridge is designed to wobble, shake, rattle and scare the living daylights out of mothers with young toddlers!
Whenever my youngest attempts to cross the bridge, my heart usually skips a few beats. “What if she loses her balance and falls off the structure?” I wonder to myself. It reminds me of movies with wobbly, broken bridges. Somehow the hero of the movie always manages to just barely make it across the bridge before the entire structure collapses and plummets into a raging river below!
Sometimes we think that God is like that rickety bridge. Our circumstances try to convince us that walking across on his bridge will ultimately lead to our destruction or demise. We edge along one board at a time, not trusting if his structure will hold each footstep we take. We doubt his goodness, and look at him with suspicion and careful caution.
In our minds we sometimes wonder…
“Will he answer my prayer?”
“Will he come through for me?”
“Will he provide for me?”
“Does he see my pain?”
The answer to all of these questions is a resounding YES!
We can rest secure in the truth that he is immovable, unshakable, firm, and steadfast. Life may teeter and wobble around us, but Jesus is the rock-solid bridge we can trust to get us across the troubled waters beneath us.
When our emotions are riddled with insecurity, our hearts can stand on the secure foundation of our hope in Christ. He is our security. Our hearts can stand on the secure foundation of our hope in Christ. He is our fortress and strong tower. Because we are secure in him, we will never be shaken.
That means we are…
immovable…
unshakable…
and ultimately,
UNSTOPPABLE.
When your emotions take you for a tailspin and leave you feeling wobbly and weak, stand on his solid truths:
My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken. Psalm 62:1-2
We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. Hebrews 6:19
Whatever uncertain events come your way, rest secure in the strength of your Savior. Find security in him—and you will never be shaken.
Here are twelve verses we can confidently stand on when we need assurance of his unshakable truth.
Twelve Unshakable Scriptures for…
1. Hope during trials
Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. James 1:2-4
2. When you feel lonely
Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:25-26
3. When you are worried
So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:31-33
4. When you are fearful
The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid? Psalm 27:1
5. Trusting in God
But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit. Jeremiah 17:7-8
6. Letting God fight for you
The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still. Exodus 14:14

My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken. Psalm 62:1-2
8. Protecting your heart
Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. Proverbs 4:23
9. The Holy Spirit’s work in you
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23

Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you. Proverbs 4:25
11. Encouraging others
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. Hebrews 10: 24-25
