Using Singleness or Marriage to Serve: Bloom in Your Season

Christian Lifestyle

Using Singleness or Marriage to Serve: Bloom in Your SeasonThe other night in my bible study, the topic of “love” came up, which isn’t surprising when you have more than two young ladies gathered together. One of my soul sisters, Jo, made a point that really stuck with me: She sees her singleness as an opportunity to serve.

With her independence, if God calls her to a different place, she can move at the drop of the hat, travel where/when she wants and spread God’s love to the new friends she meets.

On the other hand, Sam–my soul sister who is newly wed and expecting baby–can relate with someone meeting in-laws for the first time, going through the physical/mental pains of pregnancy, raising a kid in a foreign country, and help a friend going through marital issues in way that Jo couldn’t.

This reminds us:

You are exactly where God wants you–physically and mentally. It may not be where YOU want to be, but that’s not the point.

Change your mindset and instead of focusing all your prayers on being delivered out of X circumstance, ask God to reveal why you’re in X and how you can use this season to serve and be a light to others. You won’t be in this season or this physical/ mental place for all your life–so enjoy it and make the most of it while you can!
