Are you ready to get serious about blogging, share your voice with the world and do it the right way from the get-go? If so, I’m happy to reveal how Blessed Transgressions was built, and how these same steps can help you form your own powerful place on the internet!
*Below are affliate links that will direct you to the products and services you need to make an awesome blog. Purchasing through these links helps Blessed Transgressions immensely!*
Blessed Transgressions is hosted by the company Bluehost, which offers a variety of plans for those who want their own website(s) at VERY affordable prices per month. When I say hosted, I mean this is the service that allowed me to register the domain name and allowed me to integrate the WordPress software onto this site. I chose it because many top blogs and online magazines use this service, and mirroring those who are already successful is a no-brainer!
*Tip: Please be aware that once you choose a plan through Bluehost, you will have to pay for every month of your plan up front. Meaning if you sign up for the $5.95 a month plan for 36 months, they’ll expect you to pay $214.20 and tax at check out.
Step #2: Integrate WordPress
Now that you have an account with Bluehost and have registered a domain name, it’s time to integrate WordPress on it–for free! WordPress is a premium blogging software that can also be used for standard websites. The benefits of WordPress are thousands of free and paid-for themes, thousands of plugins to help your site function as you want, and so much more!
Find the “Website” section on your account home page and click the WordPress icon. Choose the self-install option and follow the rest of the instructions. Easy!
Step #3: Genesis Framework
For more information, please read What is a WordPress Theme Framework? by WP Beginner and Things You Should Know Before You Purchase the Genesis Framework by Nuts and Bolts Media.
Step #4: Design
Now onto the fun part! I bought the theme for Blessed Transgressions from Restored 316, owned and operated by Lauren Gaige. Her mission is to make the internet a more beautiful place one website at a time, and I’d say that she is succeeding! Simply click the link to her site above and find your dream theme!
And that’s it! The rest of the journey lies in your hands. May God bless your big or little corner of the internet!
